If you fail the test you have two choices, either wear the designated vest, or try your luck out of bounds. Fear not however for there is a loophole if you can’t hack it in the backcountry! ASCENT friends, it’s been two winters since we l ASCENT friends, it’s been two winters since we last published a print version of the magazine. The pandemic was a rough road for the small publisher. I’m pleased to announce that we’re planning on coming back with a new magazine this winter to celebrate the world of backcountry ski touring! It’s going to be a big improvement as far as quality goes, with a true archival style publication. Think heavy stock paper with a page count that will land with a thud on your coffee table. Something to capture the essence and soul of the backcountry like no other magazine. If you’re interested in rejoining us through subscription or as a contributor, let me know if you’re up for the tour. More to come…
